sunday in harvard square

Today, as an excuse not to do planning for school next week, I went over to Harvard Square to do some window shopping/test out my new camera. It was a rainy day, so I decided to put an antique spin on my pictures. I had fun snapping away! Meg and I reveled in the new 4 story Anthropologie (!!), and enjoyed lattes in some of the last red Starbucks cups of the season. A great last day of vacation, wish it didn’t have to end.

While browsing the anthropologie website (a daily go-to for me) I came across this wonderful baking cookbook.

It’s from an American bakery in London that I went to a few years back. Right on Portobello Road, this bakery lies in the midst of one of the most famous and largest antique markets in the world. I remember being very pleased to have found it after walking the stretch of the market, which takes a lot out of you!

Thanks to trusty old facebook, I still have some pictures from that glorious day:

It’s fun revisiting old photos isn’t it? I just spent the last 45 minutes looking through the each and every one of my facebook albums. I started with the London one, but then got caught up in the memories of my past. After rekindling my memories of London, I savored the pictures from Venice, and then decided while I was at it I might as well look through every other facebook album I’ve ever posted, which just so happens to be over 30 albums (because I love taking pictures), and here I am 45 minutes later and none the wiser. But that’s what facebook’s all about, right? Wasting time and reliving memories? At least that’s what it is to me and boy do I love it.

Anywhoo, where was I? Oh yes, The Hummingbird Bakery. That place was sure mighty delicious if my memory serves me right. I had a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting, because that’s what I like best. But they have lots and lots of goodies to choose from and just because we live here in the US doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy them either. Just buy the cookbook and you can bake up those delectable treats right in your very own kitchen!

Think of all the fun you’d have eating these treats…

Yummy. Oh so yummy. I love dessert. It’s just the best. Pick up your own copy of The Hummingbird Bakery cookbook online at anthropologie, amazon, or at The Hummingbird Bakery’s website. Enjoy!
