a wish for spring

Bright is good, right? Especially on the rainiest + coldest of days. I’d like to ask what happened to the sun? It was here and now it’s gone. Yes, it definitely came out for a little while, which counts in my book, but it slipped away before I got too satisfied. On top of that, they say there’s a storm coming in.

NO. I want to shout. Enough, winter. Get going on your way, already. I am over you.

Lately I’ve been feeling that itch for spring. It’s a good itch, one that prickles at each part of your body and gets your senses going– revving up, starting fresh, starting new.

I know it’s not quite here yet, but I’ve got the itch.

I’m listening to new music, making plans for the months ahead— getting exited for daylight savings, dreaming of switching out my clothes, and lusting after bike rides through the breeze. My mind is racing with possibility. I want to travel and visit friends, I want to explore the city + my little town, I want to walk with Zan in the evening as the sun dips low in the sky. This time of year always swells up my heart.

I am so ready.

I know it’s not quite here yet, but I’ve got the itch.

I can feel it coming from somewhere.

More every day. Every minute. Every second.

I can feel it coming.

… Can’t you?

  1. Yesss! I love everything about this collage. Just what I needed to get out the door today!!! I’ve already bought three sets of pastel earrings

    • I know! I was working on it last night and I was thinking…. this doesn’t really make sense right now, but I’m going to do it anyways BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD.

  2. I can too! that sense you talk about – you can just feel it coming. but of course winter has to throw us one last storm.

    • One last blasted storm. I’m wondering if we’ll have YET ANOTHER snow day. I hope not! We’re already 5 days extra at this point. Ugh.

      SPRING, WE’RE WAITING FOR YOU!!!

  3. Those shoes are just perfection!!! I’m so ready for spring’s arrival (and NOT AT ALL pleased about this snow in the forecast!).

  4. Wah I want Spring and all of the above. Espesh that printed skirt, and some coffee and those FLATS. Gimme.

  5. I totally understand! The weather is just as gross and depressing as it was back in January, but there is some sort of spark that has been ignited in the air. I can feel spring trying to fight through–or maybe it’s just a city full of hopeful people yearning for some sunshine. Either way, I AM SO READY.

Love this composition, btw! Awesome collage!

    • “or maybe it’s just a city full of hopeful people yearning for some sunshine”

      LOVE THAT. YES.

And thanks for noticing the collage! Working on my photoshop skills!!!

  6. I LOVED this post. Your collage is gorgeous. I’m starting to feel itchy, too – to go outside every day, to teach my kids to love running around in fresh air, to visit the woods and hike, to get dirty with real dirt. I’m a little bit tired of these four inside walls of my house. Warm weather isn’t too far away, right? I keep telling myself it can’t be, it just can’t be.

    • Thank you, Mary! I had a photoshop lesson with my friend Rachael this past weekend and I was testing out some of the new stuff I learned! It was fun to put this together!

And no, it’s not too far. And if we will it enough, I think it just might happen.

Are you guys getting snow at all down there? Stay warm!

  7. Well this is just the prettiest little spread EVER. As if I wasn’t itching for spring enough already! I feel it too, but I worry I’m getting too ahead of myself. Saturday was nice, but that short-sleeved dress I tried to rock all day may have been pushing it…! :)

  8. I have been ready for spring since December! Christmas is never all that cold for us in South Carolina, it’s January through March that gets chilly. And what’s so bad is that sprinkled throughout the “winter” we have are days of sunshine and 60-degree weather, then BAM! Cold and rain and wind.

I am over March winds already.

However, in preparation for spring, I put a cute pair of coral-colored Nine West high heels on layaway today at TJ Maxx! I can’t wait until April when I can finally get them! They look a bit like this (http://www.bluefly.com/Christian-Louboutin-coral-patent-calf-Altadama-100-peep-toe-pumps/p/307219601/detail.fly), but MUCH cheaper. :)

    • Ahh! So cute!! I love them!

And I get what you mean by the frustration of 60 degrees sprinkled here and there. I would just be thinking, why not 60 every day all the time? Lucky you get some glimpse of warmth, though! I would love that even if it wasn’t consistent!

  9. i want that yellow skirt real bad.

    • OH, ME TOO.

Also, How do you like my photoshopping skills?! Eh? Ehhhh!!! That was so fun the other night. Glad we did it!

  10. Um, woah. You are a natural at this! Loveliest composition. I love the way it flows. Adding the 2-dimensional stuff is a pro tip I forgot to mention. It looks wonderful!

    • Thank you, thank you!! It took a little bit, but I’m practicing.

(and thank you for your semi-late-night text support session. Appreciated!)

  11. I love that skirt! Wow, great picks! And I agree, Spring needs to get here ASAP. In fact I`m already kind of excited for summer, too!
