the object enthusiast //

the object enthusiastthe object enthusiastI wanted to do a quick share about the object enthusiast because it’s truly one of the happiest handmade spots on the internet. Do you ever just find a shop that you love and want to tell the whole world about it? This is that shop for me. I first found Emily through pinterest. And also, of course, on instagram.

Just bits and pieces of pretty as far as the eye can see.

Best of all, you can buy her ceramic work here.

Oh lovely lovely day.

my work with the eighty twenty.

The Eighty Twenty Magazine

This past December I worked on a special project with The Eighty Twenty, an online magazine written by and for women who ultimately want to live the best balanced life possible. I consider myself one of those woman and have enjoyed following the magazine since it’s debut last winter. I love the diversity of the site— from practical advice to personal essays, there is truly something for everyone. When Jenna came  to me last fall and asked if I would photograph the magazine’s first ever digital issue, I was thrilled. What an honor!

The magazine is finally here and it is amazing. 38 pages of essays, recipes, heath tips, and more. A true labor of love as I watched these fabulous women in action— they poured their hearts into this project and it shows.

Available for purchase here.

(You will LOVE it.)

Feels Like Home by Anna | dear friend on Steller Stories

If you click on the link above you can view a little tour of our living/dining room that I posted on Steller Stories today. I am so happy with the way the room came out. I feel like I’ve finally found my design style– and at last it feels just right. I have always loved interior decorating and design. Even as a little girl I would pour over home magazines and architecture layouts inside the books at Barnes and Noble. It’s just always been so fun to see the different ways people style their homes. My style has definitely evolved over the years, and I’d like to think I’m at my best stylist version of me yet. Every night I walk through the rooms of our house and sing, this place is my favorite, happiness in a home.

A little more on Steller: I discovered the Steller app last April {my first story was about the Golden Gate Bridge!) and then rediscovered it yesterday, and well, if you don’t know it yet, you should because it’s perfection. Such a simple idea with great layout options and clean simple fonts to add the details to your project— a new way of story telling through words, photos, and videos. I love it and I think you will too.

You can buy the Steller app in the app store to start creating your own, or find out more about it here. <— Be sure to view some of the featured stories while you’re over there. So many amazing stories! SO inspiring!

P.S. A little hint: I always use the
VSCO cam app to filter my photos
before I import them into Stellar.
VSCO FOR LIFE.

I would love to check it out. xo

Oh, the lake. You precious body of water, you. I’d like to live by you forever.

//

Growing up in Upstate New York, we didn’t really have ready access to the ocean. Not like we do in Boston, anyway. If you wanted to go to the beach, the real live beach, you had to go on vacation for it. We may not have had the sand, the salt water, or the sea, but I liked what we had even better. We had a lake. A fresh water, breezy air, glorious, most beautiful lake.

I believe all people are either ocean people or lake people. You might like both {I do}, but one or the other stands out as your favorite. I am most definitely a lake person, so imagine my happiness when this is where we ended up after Zan’s cousin’s wedding last weekend. Here, at this perfect little lake tucked inside Connecticut…

I got to spend the whole weekend with Zan’s extended family some of whom I’ve met before, some of who I was meeting for the very first time, all of which I LOVE. We kayaked and swam and swam and swam. We ate hot dogs and drank beer and swam some more. The sun was shining and the temperature was just right and everything about it all just made me smile inside. Still smiling now even. I just loved it.

The wedding was fun {hooray, love!}, but the lake was even better. The highlight of my weekend, for sure.

Beautiful, isn’t it? Makes me 100 times more excited to be home at my own most favorite lake SO SOON!

Lakes forever. And ever and ever.

A-MEN.
