things i saw, things i love

Oh my goodness this week has been awfully busy. But I made it! It’s Friday night and I made it out alive.

Phew!

Just a few things I saw and loved this week… here ya go!

Darling Studio’s blog BRUNCH featured these note cards this week by the artist Susie Ghahremani. Very lovely!

I love the look and sound of this frozen brazo de mercedes cake by Trissa of Trissalicious via 6 Bittersweets.

This is a dream house and I want to be in it. Seen and super loved on Wide Open Spaces via The Pink and Blue Blog.

Absolutely love these fabrics by Ink and Spindle via Freshly Blended. All of Ink and Spindle’s textiles are beautiful and I want to make my own pillows with them!

Isn’t this dresser amazing?! And I love the mirror too!! Spotted via Kelly and Olive.

How fun are these adorable party straws? I want to drink a raspberry Pina Colada with one of these. By Emerald + Ella via Hooray Design.

Lastly, I love this photograph of these kimquats seen at Oh Happy Day! I had this fruit once when Zan’s mom brought a bunch back from California. They’re like oranges, but mini and more tart. And you just pop them in your mouth with the skin on! They are verrrrry tasty.

Have a great weekend!!

casual friday…

It’s casual friday for me… hooray jeans.

Wish I looked half as cute as emerson (via emersonmade) today. The flower on her blazer is just about the cUTEst thing I ever did see. ADORE!!!!

I love her blog and I love her fashion sense. Check it out and have a happy Friday!

Lake Placid

It’s was pretty hard for me to go back to work this past Monday morning. Now I’m back into the swing of things, you know, it being Thursday and all, but Monday was VERY hard.

Vacations are awesome, but it’s totally the worst when they’re over.

This vacation was especially nice because I did three different mini trips in one week. Sweeet sweetness.

First, Charlotte.

Then, Syracuse.

And last, glorious last, Lake Placid.

This part of my trip was especially fun because I not only got to spend time with my family and Zan, and Zan’s brother Erik, and Josh, but I got to see my cousins too! We spent the weekend relaxing by the fire place, visiting the Olympic Ice Arena, and enjoying the quaint village filled with adorable shops and delicious places to eat.

As soon as we got into town we stopped by one of my Aunt Holly and my cousin Phoebe’s restaurants (they have 3!), Simply Gourmet. They have 46 sandwiches named after the 46 peaks in the Adirondacks.

And the sandwiches are incredible. You should definitely hit this place up if you’re ever in the area. And I’m not just saying this cause I’m related or anything. I’m totally a lover of sandwiches and these are just amazing.

Other awesome restaurants in LP (also owned by my family):

Big Mountain Deli and Creperie

Gordo’s Mexican

Seriously delicious. I mean it.

For our trip we stayed in a great condo right in Lake Placid. It was so cozy and the perfect place to relax and stay warm by the fireplace. Especially since a snow storm came our way Friday!

It was great to be back in Lake Placid, and the Empire State Games were taking place so we had an excuse to stop by the rinks and watch the figure skating!

GO USA!

Loved spending time with my cousins! I only get to see them a few times a year, so when I do it’s a treat.

On Saturday we headed out to Keene to see more of my cousins (I have 15 first cousins on my dad’s side!) and to visit my Aunt Holly’s house for Phoebe’s son little Jackson’s 1st birthday party. He’s so super cute and Phoebe did an amazing job with the cake… check it out!

A bobsled! I love it!!

A great weekend with family. Loved every minute and can’t wait to go back!

happy birthday, dr. seuss!
