boston bloggers picnic!

After my graduation on Saturday I headed over to the Boston Public Garden to stop by the Boston Bloggers Picnic. Natalie and Melissa over at the Boston Day Book organized this event for bloggers in the Boston area to network and connect with each other face to face! It was so nice to finally meet many of the bloggers I have been following for months. It’s funny, because I already felt as though we were good friends even though we had never met. It’s a really special thing to meet other bloggers in real life. I walked away feeling very happy and satisfied, knowing that I will keep up my relationship with these people through our blogs and hopefully some more real-life gatherings! I also have to add that the weather was gorgeous (hot and spectacularly sunny) and the treats were terrific!

Sponsors of the event included Boylan BottlingChobaniKickass CupcakesNaturally NinaQ’s NutsSalty Oats by Kayak CookiesSofra Bakery + Cafe and Spindrift.

Here I am with NatalieClaire, and Rachael. It was so wonderful to meet everyone. With such a busy weekend happening, I’m so glad I made the effort to attend. I’m working on business cards for the next event… hope to see you all again sometime soon!

master of education

It was a busy weekend, and certainly one for the memory books! Saturday morning was one of the highlights, as I walked across the stage at the Bank of America Pavilion in South Boston for my graduation from Lesley University. I have spent the last 5 semesters working towards my Master’s in Education and this was the day of celebration! The day was perfect, with my family there and the sun shining bright. At such a busy time of year, it was hard for me before this day to take a step back and see all that I’ve accomplished. I guess that’s part of what graduation days are for– to take a moment to sit in your cap and gown as people applaud your hard work and dedication, and to be proud of yourself– to think about what you’ve done, where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you are going. With all the pomp and circumstance and inspirational speeches it’s quite emotional! As it should be, I always love a good, happy tear.

It meant so much to have my family there to celebrate with me. Thank you, thank you for coming. So much love…

Hooray, I did it!

things i saw, things i love

It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these posts! It’s been a long month and we’ve still got another two weeks to go until June! I have been itching for the sun and warmth to come back. I’m done with being cold and I’m more than done with being wet. This post is inspired by the summer girl in me and here’s to hoping 70 degrees comes soon!

How wonderful is this summer shack? I love it! I can just imagine waking up to the warm sunshine, heading out to catch the morning rays. Yes, please. Photo from HousetoHome.

Seeing this bike basket really makes me wish I had a bike. I’ve been having this vision of me on a bike for awhile now. It’s more of a yearning really. Me, biking along the Charles, picnic basket all packet, flowers aplenty. Hair blowing in the wind and the weather is glorious. Maybe one day. One day…….. Via StyleMePretty.

Speaking of bicycles, I came across this idea on Pinterest. How utterly ADORABLE is this idea for a wedding guest book? It’s a fingerprint balloon kit by Etsy shop owner Bluedetoi. When I get married I will have this. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea. Precious!!!

Oh HEY! Why not one more bicycle photo! The girl’s obsessed, what’ya going to do? I love the ensemble of pictures here, inspired by the bright spring colors by Jessica Tierney Designs. So happy. And yes, I’ll have some of that ice cream. Please and thank you.

Hello, yellow dress. You are so cute and summery! I would love to pair this with a navy blue cardigan. Seen and loved at eShakti.

My heart smiled when I saw this picture over at Blissful Mediocrity. It reminds me of simpler times and the freedom of summer. So special.

And lastly, here’s a brilliant idea for summer. Raspberry beer cocktail. I’ll have some of that. I love the chalkboard glasses too!

Here’s the recipe:

3/4 cup fresh raspberries*
3 1/2 (12-oz.) bottles beer, chilled
1 (12-oz.) container frozen raspberry lemonade concentrate, thawed
1/2 cup vodka

Have a great weekend!!!

i heart cover songs.

This is an AMAZING cover of Taylor Swift’s song “Mean” (one of my current favorites!). We saw this artist Andrew Allen open for Joshua Radin back in February. I remember thinking how beautiful his voice was and feeling the need to download some of his music right away. He’s got that smooth operator voice that just melts me.

Check it out. You will like it too!
