Archives for July 2011

je veux…

Wouldn’t it be nice to have these things??

I’m dreaming over here on this Monday morning, what about you? Hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was perfect, yet again. I love weekends in Boston when I do a little of this and a little of that. It makes summer seem longer, which of course is ideal. The other day I was going through my calendar, planning things out for the rest of July and August, and I felt a slight panic attack coming on. Do NOT do this if you can help it. Hide your calendar under your bed or something. Because looking at a calendar shows you visually when summer is over and this is a horrible feeling. Horrible. You better believe I won’t be looking at a calendar again anytime soon! Not until Thanksgiving at least.

Happy Monday, dear readers. And happy summer too. A very happy and relaxing summer indeed.

4th of july in maine!

We had a great time in Maine… as always! We spent some time at Popham Beach (didn’t let the clouds get in our way), had dinner at the Grill House in Yarmouth (YUM!), enjoyed hanging out and relaxing at Han and Todd’s new house (yay, pool!), and spent the 4th of july doing 4th of july things… like drinking beer, eating  cheeseburgers, and watching fireworks!

Ahh, Maine. You are so good to me. I love you, I love you, and I love you some more.

Thank for a fun weekend, H + T! See you again soon!

rooms j’adore

These rooms are totally inspiring me right now. I’m in love with the colors and and the florals and the coziness. This is the color scheme I’m going for. Colorful, light, and playful, with a little bit of chic, and a little bit of classy.

I’m planning to make my own curtains for the new apartment. My friend Bailey inspired me and I think I can do it too! Since the couches are a pinky-red, I’ve been thinking about a yellow pattern for the curtains. I’m in the midst of online fabric looking, but it’s hard to know what’s nice and what’s not! I guess I’ll have to start ordering some fabric swatches soon.

Thinking of decorating just makes my heart flutter. LOVE it!

products i love right now

1. Burt’s Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm. I cannot live without this stuff. It’s totally silky smooth on your lips and adds just a touch of perfect color. It smells (and tastes) good too!

2. Life Factory Water Bottle. I just bought this (rather expensive) totally awesome glass water bottle from Whole Foods. Clearly the best part about it is it’s color because orange is my favorite, but the fact that it’s glass is pretty rad too. It’s environmentally friendly AND health conscious. None of that BPA biznass. Yick to that, whatever it is.

3. Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Hand Soap. This stuff is the best. No harsh chemicals. Totally delicious smells. Right now I’ve got basil for my kitchen, but the honeysuckle smells wonderful. I use the countertop spray and laundry detergent too. Thanks, Mrs. M!

4. Method Multi-Surface Wipes. Do you ever feel like going wipe crazy? Clean your kitchen, clean your coffee table, heck, you can even clean the dust out of your car with these. They’re perfect for keeping your life dust and sticky-jelly free. And they smell so sweet too.

5. Fresh Sugar Lemon Perfume. I cannot get enough. Favorite, faaaavorite. Lemon sugar-y goodness in a bottle. It doesn’t get much better than this.

6. Herban Essentials Oil Towelettes. These are ideal for keeping your hands clean and sanitized on the go. Again, the smells will wooo you and your immune system will thank you too. I like using these after yoga, after taking the T, and before eating out. They come in lots of different scents too. And of course, I adore them all.

7. Alba Botanica Sunblock. This sunblock is surprisingly light and absorbs super well. I’m picky about sunblock too. I hate when I can feel it on my skin and when I can’t even wear my hair in a low pony-tail because it will get all stringy and gross. This stuff doesn’t do either of those things plus, the lavender smell is lovely.

8. Neutrogena Facial Cleansing Bar. I just picked this up the other day from the drug store and instantly I loved it. It lathers so well and you can easily use it on your chest and shoulders too. Great for after yoga and a cold shower at the end of a hot summer day.

9. Bumble and Bumble Shampoo and Conditioner. My friend Andrea gave me this shampoo and I will be forever grateful for her kindness. She received it as a gift and (fortunately for me) has very thick hair already. I love it so much but I only use it for special occasions because it’s SUPER pricey. Gotta make it last as long as I can!

10. Essie Nail Polish. Love. Love. Loooove.

11. L’occitane Verbena Cooling Deodorant. This deod feels sooo nice on your skin. It’s cooling in a wonderfully refreshing way. Keeps the fresh feeling going even after you get out of the shower. It’s clear, so it doesn’t show up on your clothes and it dries very quickly so you don’t have to worry when you’re in a rush to get out the door.

These are my current favorites, what are some products that you really love?
