Dear Future Me,

Do you know about this website?

futureme.org???

I just heard about this morning from Tracy over at Shutterbean.com. She and Joy were talking about it on their Podcast (more on that later) and it’s such a cool idea! Simple too: Write an email to your future self. Type it all out (thoughtful, funny, reflective… whichever floats your boat, really), then set a date for you to get it in your inbox.

I just sent myself an email that I will get in two years. I was mostly thoughtful in mine. I won’t write it down here, because obviously, I want it to be a surprise to myself.

What would you say in yours?

TRY IT!

Highly recommended if you’re:

Going through a change
Moving
Starting a new job
Having a baby
Or just because!

Steppin’ Out

This week’s Steppin’ Out was extra special because it was my birthday! Plus, I was in a different state and everything. Talk about steppin’ OUT. Out of Boston, for sure. My friends and I spent the afternoon cruising around Charlotte, NC (the city Bailey now calls home) touring the sights and remembering the old days back in Syracuse. It was a great day filled with a little bits of something and little bits of nothing at all (plus a whole lot of laughs), which are the best kind of days in my opinions.

I had a little fun in front of B’s long mirror before we headed out for the day (I need one of these!)…

For lunch we went to Zoe’s which had super delicious fare for the health conscious, then we took a little trip to West Elm to check out the home decor inspiration for my new apartment. I ended up picking out some curtains, and was super excited about them, only to discover I didn’t really like the colors in my living room when I got home. BUMMER. I did get some gorgeous hand painted pillow cases for my couches, though, which I am really in love with, and I think they helped me decide what to do as far as window treatments go (more on that later!).

For dinner we went to a tasty mexican restaurant, Cantina 1511 right near Bailey’s house in Charlotte. We had margaritas and enough food to fill us for days. Rebecca actually said she woke up full, which might have been partly from dinner, and MOSTLY from the delicious cupcakes we had from SAS Cupcakes. OH yes.

All in all a GREAT day and a wonderful weekend. I was so sad to say goodbye. Home is wherever I’m with you… Thanks for an awesome birthday, ladies. It was perfect!

Happy Birthday, MOM!

One of the most special things about today is that it is not only my birthday, but it’s my mom’s birthday too! I have always loved this growing up– sharing a birthday with my mom. It’s one of those “interesting facts” about me that think is the coolest.

Mom,

Thank you for being you. Thank you for giving me one of the best childhoods a girl could ask for and for helping me become the strong, happy, and positive person I am today. You are one of the hardest workers I know and you’ve shown me what it means to love someone with your whole self. I love you so much. Each and every day.

Wish I could be in two places at once today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!! ♥♥♥

Happy Birthday to ME!

Tomorrow is my birthday and I’m off to spend it with my very favorite ladies– my high school girlfriends!

I’m flying down to Charlotte after work today for the weekend and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect birthday present. 28, everybody. That’ll be me tomorrow. We’re talking old. Capital O. L. D. I’m the youngest of my friends, though, so they’d shake their heads at me if they heard me say that.

Really though, didn’t I just turn 22? Like, yesterday? Sure seems it.

You’re only as old as you feel. That’s what they say anyway. More than anything I feel young, so I’m gonna take that feeling and run with it.

Cheers to being 28. And to hoping that it’s a good one!!
