Archives for October 2011

things i saw, things i love

It’s been a looooooong time since I’ve done one of these posts. I like to think of it as my “friday favorites”. You know, where I share what I’ve found, the best of the best, after scouring the internet for the gold of all golds. Here’s what I’ve got for you this week, my friends…

Enjoy and soak it all in…

Holy moly is this house inSANE or what?!? This picture was taken at a plantation-style wedding via Style Me Pretty. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more gorgeous setting. It’s just stunning.

OK, so I need to be eating this chocolate pudding NOW. Or, maybe I can wait til this Sunday when I plan on making it. Deeeeeelicious. Head over to Joy the Baker for the recipe!

This setting just makes me happy. I love the coat rack and the clean, white feel of the house. Dreamin’ about someday. Seen on Pinterest.

These unique modern city maps are so cool. They are only $18 from artist Jennasue on Etsy. They’ll be featured in West Elm’s 2011 holiday catalog, too, which is pretty awesome. Check ’em!

These are wedding toppers! Adorbs!!!!! They’re called ‘Love in the Library’ and you can get them from the Etsy shop Lace and Rubbish. I LOVE.

So did you know Levi’s now does beauty products? Me neither! But do I ever love their packaging. I am such a sucker for packaging and I want these products on the top of my dresser! Designed by Harshyla Singh at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA for Levi.

I saw this Blazer on Arrow and Arrow and I almost died. This is my favorite look in the world. So cozy and relaxed, just like a weekend! Both the blazer and the shirt are from FWK Engineered Garments and you can find them on the Bows Plus Arrows shop. Expensive, yet glorious. I’ll never own one of these because of the price tag, but that doesn’t mean I can’t imagine I own one. So imagine I will.

Don’t you love this mug? It’s a DIY and you can do it too! Just click on over to Wit & Whistle to see how it’s done. Surprisingly I’ve been into geometric patterns lately, as well as a lot of evening tea drinking. This mug fits the bill for both of these. I like it. I like it a LOT.

Well, that’s all for this installment, folks! Enjoy your weekend! XO.

mamma said there’d be days like this.

I honestly hate to be a Debbie Downer and usually try with all my might not to be, but yesterday was just one of those days that was hard. I messed up something at work that got me all nervous and worried and the whole rest of the day I felt off. Like nothing was really going my way. I spent the night relaxing with some hot tea and hit the hay early with my Kindle (I’m reading the second installment in the Hunger Games), but before winding down I clicked over to Pinterest to see if I could find any words to settle my woes.

I found all these nice quotes and decided to post them today. Because I know we all have days like this where we need a little pick me up. I hope your week is going better than mine and here’s to hoping today will be a brighter day for me.

That blue sky is legit. Happy Fall!

falling for fall.

This weekend I really started to accept the fact that it’s fall, and you know what? As much as I am addicted to summer, fall’s got me smiling. I am loving wearing long sleeves and fleeces, walking around my apartment in slippers, and the warm light that graces the sky each afternoon.

I really tried to make the most of my Sunday this weekend. I woke up early to have breakfast with Zan before he headed out to Lincoln to work on his new (used) Subaru. It’s an outback, so come winter we’ll be riding up the slops in style. He’s been working on this car almost every weekend and I can’t wait for him to be done! After breakfast I hopped in my car and drove over to Target to look for a grey throw blanket to go over a trunk in our bedroom. I luckily found exactly what I was looking for and made it out of there with only the things I needed and nothing more. A RARE occurrence in this girls life. I was so proud of myself I decided to stop in at Marshalls and treat myself to some clearance artwork. Wait, what? Basically I saved my money just to spend it 15 mintues later. How I roll.

After Target I met up with Meg back home and we drove out Route 2 for apple picking in Stow, Ma. Destination: Honey Pot Hills Orchard, which as been a favorite fall destination for a couple of years now. We filled up a bag of apples (I’m not much of a plain apple eater, more of the bake-it and devour it type), ate hot dogs and went to heaven with apple cider donuts. Man, those are delicious.

While at the apple orchard we discovered via twitter that the glorious Wegmans was having it’s grand opening in Massachusetts just a mere 20 minutes from where we were. So naturally we made the last minute decision to take the drive to the motherland and enjoy the sights and sounds that IS the mecca of all grocery stores. It was the end-all-be-all best afternoon of this October. Just sayin’. It was insane.

Hope you had a good weekend! Only 4 more days til the next one!
