things i saw, things i love

So it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these links posts! But alas, I’ve had the time this week on my mini-Syracuse vacation to spend a good chunk of time perusing the internet for lovely little things to share. Enjoy!

I ADORE this dress. It reminds me of a ballerina and I heart ballerinas. Via lavender summers and lilac dreams.

This BBQ poster is sweet!! I’d like very much to send an invite like this to all my friends. I’d even hang it around the neighborhood it looks so neat. Spotted on flickr via Pinterest.

This time capsule idea from Kelli Crow is super cute for kids to give as gifts. I love it so much I might even make one myself come Christmas.

So I kind of think I’m in love with ikat (post to come soon), and this room just has loads of it. This room is incredible. I obsessed. Via Cote de Texas.

How cool is this wedding invite found on Style Me Pretty? What an original idea!!

I love this photo of the Boston skyline by Caroline O’Donnell at Poppy and Leo. She seems to always capture the city so perfectly, I love looking at her photos!

Wait just a minute. Are these for real??? These chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes (via Kevin and Amanda) might just be the best thing that ever happened to me. Now I can’t be fore sure because I haven’t tried them yet, but as soon as I do I’ll let you know. Oh. my. goodness.

And lastly, because I’m in the wedding spirit this weekend, look at this fun colored crinoline idea I found at The Brass Paperclip. I don’t know if I would dare to do it myself, but it’s fun!

Happy weekend, everyone!!

happy 4th!

I wish you the happiest 4th of july weekend filled with fireworks and BBQs, good friends and good times.

Boston has the most incredible 4th of July fireworks display I have ever seen. If you’re from Beantown, then you know, and if your not, it’s a sight to see. Spectacular music with the Boston Pops and fireworks exploding from the middle of the Charles river. I love that dirty water. It’s wicked.

What are you up to this weekend? I’m heading to Maine tomorrow for a few days of livin’ the way life should be. Vacationland, here I come.

Have a great one!

boston bloggers picnic!

After my graduation on Saturday I headed over to the Boston Public Garden to stop by the Boston Bloggers Picnic. Natalie and Melissa over at the Boston Day Book organized this event for bloggers in the Boston area to network and connect with each other face to face! It was so nice to finally meet many of the bloggers I have been following for months. It’s funny, because I already felt as though we were good friends even though we had never met. It’s a really special thing to meet other bloggers in real life. I walked away feeling very happy and satisfied, knowing that I will keep up my relationship with these people through our blogs and hopefully some more real-life gatherings! I also have to add that the weather was gorgeous (hot and spectacularly sunny) and the treats were terrific!

Sponsors of the event included Boylan BottlingChobaniKickass CupcakesNaturally NinaQ’s NutsSalty Oats by Kayak CookiesSofra Bakery + Cafe and Spindrift.

Here I am with NatalieClaire, and Rachael. It was so wonderful to meet everyone. With such a busy weekend happening, I’m so glad I made the effort to attend. I’m working on business cards for the next event… hope to see you all again sometime soon!

happy birthday, bails!

I didn’t give a proper birthday post to Bailey on her actual birthday, but it’s okay because I had a good excuse– we were together!

It was so great to have old friends in town this weekend as we celebrated one of my bestest friend’s birthday. Bailey is one of those friends that will never let you down. She’s always good for a conversation, is always up for having a fun time, and is just one of those people that you feel lucky to have in your life.

We had a dElicious dinner at Gaslight in the South End, which had the perfect atmosphere for our small group. Although we made a reservation, we had to wait quite a while for our table to be ready. The place is so popular it’s VERY busy on the weekends (and with food like this, it’s easy to understand why). We hardly minded at all as we sipped our drinks at the bar and posed for some pictures with the Nikon.

The food was amazing, and we even got to try several appetizers “on the house” because we had to wait so long for a table….

Fondue with melting fontina, pork sausage, garlic and croutons

Country Pâté with coarse mustard, pork sausage and bayonne ham

Fried Artichokes with nicoise olives, onion, sweet pepper and spicy aioli

Tarbais Bean Puree with nicoise olive tapenade, romesco & flatbread

Yes, please! They were yummy and fabulous!

It was a such great night… great food in my favorite city with the most wonderful friends.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BAILS!!! xoxo
