Steppin’ Out.

This Saturday I headed into Boston to enjoy the gorgeous weather and check out the Boston Book Fair in Copley Square. It was such a beautiful fall day. The air was cool and the sun was shining. Perfection.

Oh, and do you like my jacket? It’s an oldie, but a goodie. During the big move to the new apartment I rediscovered this red blazer that I literally forgot I had. It’s J.Crew circa 2006, but to me it feels like new. I wore it Friday and Saturday of this week and I might even take it another step and throw it on again today. It’s too cute not to. How could I have neglected this piece of gold for so long?!

In other news: Those glasses are fake! I found them at Anthro last summer and I’ve been wanting to wear them for fun, but kept chickening out until now. They’re totally awesome (and dorky), and I’ve always secretly wanted glasses. So there, voila, now I’ve got some. HA!

I loved just walking around Back Bay yesterday. It was packed with people, which I usually don’t like, but something about the book festival made it not so bad. Probably because the crowd was there for a purpose, which was the same reason I was there too. There were tents upon tents filled with books and book lovers, there was live music that put a little skip in my step, and there was this feeling of fall in the air that was so pleasant. At the book fair I made sure to stop at the Drawn and Quarterly booth, where my cousin in-law was working the crowd, and then made my way on over to the new Anthropologie, which always makes me swoon.

All in all a fantastic Saturday. I enjoyed every minute.

Linking up with Harper’s Happenings!

talkin’ a walk…

Yesterday I left school right at 3 so I could make it home and enjoy the afternoon sunshine. This was my first official walk around Arlington, and it made me feel really happy. I loved being outside in the fresh air, taking long strides and soaking up the goodness of my new town. It’s quiet here, which I like, but there is still plenty to see and do and experience.

Here are some pictures I snapped along the way…

As you can see, I perfectly captured one of the first signs of fall. Besides that little vine of red leaves it’s still looks very much like the end of summer around here, but the speckle of red I spotted and the brisk air was proof that autumn is coming.

I ended the afternoon cozied up on the couch with a cup of caramel apple spice.

Perfectly delicious.

october.

Wow, friends, I cannot even believe it’s October. What happened to those lazy, carefree days of summer? They’re gone from this life for the foreseeable future, but of course, if they don’t go for awhile then they wouldn’t be quite so sweet when they return. And it’s sweetness of summer that keeps me alive.

Fall’s got it’s perks too of course (although it ranks 3rd as far as seasons go, mostly because the bitter cold winter follows). I do love my tall brown boots and wearing cozy sweaters and scarves. I love the taste of pumpkin spice lattes and caramel apple spice. I love weekends with nothing much to do (and not feeling guilty about it!) and the days the leaves start changing to glorious shades of orange and red. Oh, those days, I look forward to them so.

I cannot believe it’s been over a week since I’ve last posted. Life seems busy these days between one thing and another and my fingers haven’t felt like typing much and my brain hasn’t felt like thinking outside the hours of school. More than anything sleep is my favorite thing right now and weekends come at a close second. School is going well and it’s surely keeping me busy, and life at the apartment is lovely. I’m working on painting curtains and although it’s tough work (tiring and tedious) I think it’ll be worth it in the end. I can’t wait to show you soon.

Happy Wednesday, everyone. So glad to be saying hello after all this time. ♥
