why i shop:

This dress was $20!!! I could hardly believe my luck when I spotted this on the rack at Marshalls yesterday. Isn’t it chic?! If you know me, you know I am a shopper. I like clothes and shoes and bags and houseware goodies. But I like to think that I am one of the best bargain shoppers around. There is rarely a day when I buy anything full price and yesterday was one of my lucky days in the discount department.

I am TOTALLY wearing this dress in NYC next weekend. Trendy New Yorkers, here I come.

fabulous.

“Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous.”

-Carrie Bradshaw, Goddess.

I’ve been watching a lot of Sex and the City lately. I could watch it for hours and days and years. I love it so much I thought it deserved a blog post, so here it is. Thank you, lovely ladies of SATC. You will always and forever be my favorite.

je veux…

Wouldn’t it be nice to have these things??

I’m dreaming over here on this Monday morning, what about you? Hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was perfect, yet again. I love weekends in Boston when I do a little of this and a little of that. It makes summer seem longer, which of course is ideal. The other day I was going through my calendar, planning things out for the rest of July and August, and I felt a slight panic attack coming on. Do NOT do this if you can help it. Hide your calendar under your bed or something. Because looking at a calendar shows you visually when summer is over and this is a horrible feeling. Horrible. You better believe I won’t be looking at a calendar again anytime soon! Not until Thanksgiving at least.

Happy Monday, dear readers. And happy summer too. A very happy and relaxing summer indeed.

things i saw, things i love

oh weekends, blissful glorious weekends. I can’t get enough of you!

Here are some things that have caught my eye recently…. hope you like!

I have a wish that someone will make me a quilt as colorful as this one someday. I am such a quilt person and the colors and patterns in this one are so bright and beautiful. Photo via flickr.

How adorable are these handmade hairpins by Little Miss Mamma. She’s inspired by anthropologie and gives a great tutorial on how to make these gems over at KoJo Designs.

I love the light in this bedroom. The skylights are a dream come true and I love the wall paper on that one wall. Looks so simple and pretty! Also note the bookshelves right in the alcove by the bed. Perfect! Photo seen at My Ideal Home.

Yummy fruit skewers!! All this needs is some strawberries and raspberries and they would be the skewers from heaven. Summer fruit, I love you! Photo from flickr.

Speaking of summer (it’s all summer, all the time in this head of mine), I think this carnival party theme from Martha Stewart is so fun. So perfect for a July or August birthday!

I recently saw this purse/travel bag on Pinterest and I’m head over heals in love. I can’t figure out where it’s from though! Anyone know? If so, let me in on the secret. Isn’t it so awesome!?

And lastly, I’m perfectly addicted to buying bowls at anthropologie. I’ve started collecting a few of these lovely patterns and I won’t stop until I have them all. I love the mismatch look!

Hope you’re having a great weekend!! I’m enjoying my time in Connecticut visiting my new tiny baby cousin, little Hope Elea. She’s too precious for words!
