things i saw, thing i love

Special sunday edition! Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend! I’m at the St. Patrick’s Day Southie Parade today enjoying the bright sunshine and green beer. Wish the weekend didn’t ever have to end…

Here’s a compilation of things I’ve seen and loved this week… enjoy!

Don’t you just love this shelving piece I discovered on Bright Bazaar? I love how it’s decorated with such brightly colored bowls and pitchers.

I want to make some of this delicious looking Oatmeal Stout Cake with Apples and Whiskey Cream that the ladies over at Big Girls Small Kitchen whipped up. YUM!

This print by elgarboart via Hey Suzy is so beautiful. I love the look of the sky and the tiny people visible in the basket. So pretty!

Blissful Mediocrity posted this for St. Patrick’s Day via Lily Pilitzer. CUTE!

Speaking of illustrations, I love these by Emma Kisstina posted on Little White Whale.

Deviled Eggs are my FAAAAAAVORITE! And these basic deviled eggs from Pinch My Salt look oh so so so tasty.

What a cool shelf of tea pots. Photo from Blue Pool Road spotted on Esquisite Banana.

I came across this picture of Le Petite Prince on elephantine this week and although I read it many years ago, it reminds me how much I loved it and how I need to read it over again!

Hope you’ve had a nice weekend. Spring is coming and daylight savings has brought my spirits up! Have a great week!

i won, i won!!!!!

I first need to start off this post by clarifying that I have never won anything in my entire life. At raffles I always cross my fingers and make a wish, but somebody else always wins. Dang them.

Yesterday was my lucky day because I won these TOTALLY AWESOME Le Creuset Bowls from one of my very favorite blogs The Sweet Life.

It was Melanie’s very first giveaway and I WON!

You should probably become a reader of The Sweet Life, if you’re not already. It’s pretty sweet!!!

She’ll give you tips and recipes on how to make all kinds of glorious treats…

homemade oreos!

marshmallow macarons!

yummy glazed donuts!

homemade Kit-Kats!

lemon cupcakes with raspberry buttercream!

Oh yes you sure do want to visit her blog now. I know you do.

THANKS MELANIE!!!!!

things i saw, things i love

I hope this Friday finds you well. For me this weekend is the last hurrah of my vacation, so I plan to make the most of it up here in Lake Placid! Here are some of my favorites from this week…. enjoy!

I think I’ve had dessert on the mind this week! This lemon meringue cake looks divine… seen over at honey and fizz.

I’ve been seeing glimpses of Zara’s home collection here and there the past few weeks, but no one has done quite an extensive preview as Bright Bazaar. I am loving everything in the collection!

I LOVE these unique wedding invitations spotted on 100 Layer Cake (invitations by Oh Joy!)

Polka dotted tea cup and saucer, seen and loved at The Pursuit of Style.

A collection of Penguin Classic Books via A Piece of Toast. I’ve seen some of these being sold at Anthropologie recently!

I love this handmade ruffle shirt I found on Tea Rose Home. I’d like to think I could do something like this myself, but the only thing I’ve ever sewn is a broken button.

What a funky feel this kitchen has. I love the high ceilings and the windows that seem to touch the sky. Via Kitchenisms.

I know this is probably obvious by how many times I’ve mentioned warm weather and flip flops in the past few weeks, but I am so ready for summer. This picture, seen on Stephanie Says, makes me feel almost as if I am there. Almost. And for now, that’s good enough for me.

Happy weekend!!

five hundred!!

I can hardly believe it’s true. I’ve been blogging regularly for a whole year an a half now and I’ve come to my 500th post. CRAZY! I honestly didn’t know when I started my blog that I would enjoy it as much as I do, but it’s become a really significant hobby of mine. I never even so much as kept a diary (although I did attempt on more than one occasion), and here I am typing away with each passing day.

I hope you’ve enjoyed it! There is more to come and I can’t wait…
