Charlotte!

I had a great weekend in Charlotte and was sad to leave yesterday morning to come back to the cold and snowy Northeast. It was a good time all around and I even got to break out my flip-flops (which Olive managed to bite a piece out of later in the weekend, but that’s neither here nor there)!  There was some much needed catching up, a good amount of picture taking, shopping, and a whole lot of eating.

“It all revolves around the food,” Kevin commented jokingly as we planned our next meal over lunch on Sunday afternoon.

“It always revolves around the food,” Bailey and I responded at the exact same time.

How true it is.

It was a relaxing weekend, with mostly food, and a lot of good memories for the books.

We started off the first morning right with some amazing waffles from Cast Iron Waffles right near Bailey and Kevin’s neighborhood. We all chose to go with the deluxe waffles, but each put our own twist on it. Bailey got strawberries and bananas, Kevin went with peaches and bananas, and I choose to go with the strawberries and peaches. Yes, that’s Nutella under the fruit, and the whipped cream was so so sweet and tasty.

After brunch Bails and I headed out around Charlotte to get a tour of some of the surrounding neighborhoods and hit up some vintage inspired antique shops. Post and Gray was a favorite, with lots of furniture just my style, and The Sleepy Poet was simply a dream. It’s a HUGE antique warehouse with lots of little trinkets, old clothing, furniture and more, some finds are not so nice (aka “trash”) and some finds are real steals (aka “treasure”).

The rest of Saturday was spent lounging on the deck in the sun and spending time at Bailey’s parents house. It was so fun seeing the decorating going on in both houses.

Here is a glimpse of what Bails has done to her place so far:

Looks so good!

Also, Bailey’s mom Meagan and I have similar styles so it was really fun to see what she had done with their gorgeous town house. It’s beautiful! (Unfortunately there are no pictures to share, which I am regretting terribly right now, so you’ll just have to trust me on this one.)

Here are some more pics from Saturday:

Sunday Bailey and Kevin took me on a tour around Charlotte where we took a drive through the city and stopped on over at NoDa, which is Charlotte’s historic arts district. It’s a cute “hipster” area with art gallerys, boutiques, and lots of places to eat and drink. We passed by a cute place called The Dog Bar, where you can bring your dog and have a few bevys. What an idea. Too bad Olive was at home!

We chose to eat lunch at the Crepe Cellar, which had delicious food and $10 unlimited mimosas for Sunday brunch.

Good times, good times.

I even got to meet that precious little Olive…

She’s super sweet and such a well-behaved dog. Even if she does chew on stuff sometimes!

Thanks for such a nice weekend, Bails and Kev. I can’t wait til my next visit– hope to return again soon!

on my way to Charlotte!

Happy Friday!

I’m officially on February vacation at 3:00 and this makes me ever so pleased.

I’m heading down to Charlotte after work to visit Bails! And Kevin! AND OLIVE!

Meet Olive:

We haven’t officially met yet, but I have a feeling we’re going to be friends.

I’m so excited.

To see my dear friend, and her husband, and their new beautiful house, and their dog.

Mostly, I’m excited for that.

But also, because it’s going to be 70 degrees! 70! The most perfect temperature of all time! Eeee!

I’ll be back at some point soon with ‘things I saw, things I love’ and other interesting and important information. Until then, ciao! Have a good one!

a winter photo

Here’s a pic me and Han from this weekend’s get together. We didn’t get a chance to take any winter Maine beach photos because of the dreary weather, but we did get this one of the two of us while out for a drink with some Y-town friends. It was a quickly snapped photo, but it’s got a great winter feel to it. Cozy in Maine with a glass of wine.

Thanks for a great weekend, friend! See you in two weeks!

dear ee,

HAPPY, HAPPY! Love you, love you. Love you, love you, love you.

xoxo for-eva.
