Vacation!

At 9:15 tonight I will officially be on vacation. A whole 11 days!!

It’s spring break:
I don’t have school.
I don’t have to work.
Life is grand.

3 years ago I went to North Carolina on my vacation.
2 years ago it was California. Glorious.
Last year we went to Washington, DC. I was a tourist and it was awesome.
This year…. this year I’ll be sitting on my butt, watching Ellen and enjoying the fact that I am doing nothing. Absolutely nothing. I’m so excited about it. I love love LOVE going away on vacation, but this year I am so busy with school and volunteering and babysitting I just literally need a break. So I’ll take it!

Busy, busy, busy.

I was so so busy last week I hardly had any time to blog. These next couple of months are going to be jam packed with stuff, but I am determined to make it out alive. Although most likely, I won’t be blogging as much as I have been, I still hope to get a post in from time to time– it’s such a creative outlet for me (in a virtually-artsy kind of way) and something I have grown proud of. I’m a writer! Who knew?!

Here’s what I’ll be up to this semester:
  • I’m taking 4 grad school classes
  • I’ll be volunteering 3 mornings a week in a first grade classroom
  • Hanging out with Wyatt and Asa… my little love bunnies
  • Watching the very last season of LOST
  • Dancing the night away at Bailey’s wedding in April !
  • Working on a new blog: letsreadtogether.wordpress.com (I’ll be tracking my life as a young teacher… posting about new information I’ve learned, classroom tips, children’s literature reviews and other interesting info about working with kids)
I’m excited, stressed, and exhausted about the idea of all I have to do. It’s gonna be a whirlwind semester that’s for sure. Luckily, I do enjoy everything that I am doing (yes, even the classes part) and so hopefully it will make the craziness bearable. Wish me luck!

Help for Haiti

The news is just devastating. I find myself not knowing what to think, besides an immense amount of sadness and helplessness. But after watching enough news covereage, I don’t want to just sit around anymore. I’ve decided there is something I can do. Something that everyone can do. Please take a minute to donate to an established non-profit relief organization. There are MANY organizations out there with workers and volunteers helping in Haiti. I’ve listed a few below… give what you can! Whether it’s a penny or a comment every effort matters.

Lastly, there are many blogs out there with fundraising efforts. Please visit these blogs and comment! Every little thing counts!!

Bring on the cold.

Today’s forecast for Boston:
15 degrees
(feels like 3 degrees).

Do you like my new coat?
This winter’s got NOTHING on me.
