pie bird press, letterpress stationary

Aren’t these letterpress cards fun?! Designed by Pie Bird Press, I just recently spotted these on Eat Drink Chic. I think they are adorable and love all the different pictures there are to choose from. These would be a great gift, or could also be a gift for yourself to send letters to your friends! ♥

things i saw, things i love

oh weekends, blissful glorious weekends. I can’t get enough of you!

Here are some things that have caught my eye recently…. hope you like!

I have a wish that someone will make me a quilt as colorful as this one someday. I am such a quilt person and the colors and patterns in this one are so bright and beautiful. Photo via flickr.

How adorable are these handmade hairpins by Little Miss Mamma. She’s inspired by anthropologie and gives a great tutorial on how to make these gems over at KoJo Designs.

I love the light in this bedroom. The skylights are a dream come true and I love the wall paper on that one wall. Looks so simple and pretty! Also note the bookshelves right in the alcove by the bed. Perfect! Photo seen at My Ideal Home.

Yummy fruit skewers!! All this needs is some strawberries and raspberries and they would be the skewers from heaven. Summer fruit, I love you! Photo from flickr.

Speaking of summer (it’s all summer, all the time in this head of mine), I think this carnival party theme from Martha Stewart is so fun. So perfect for a July or August birthday!

I recently saw this purse/travel bag on Pinterest and I’m head over heals in love. I can’t figure out where it’s from though! Anyone know? If so, let me in on the secret. Isn’t it so awesome!?

And lastly, I’m perfectly addicted to buying bowls at anthropologie. I’ve started collecting a few of these lovely patterns and I won’t stop until I have them all. I love the mismatch look!

Hope you’re having a great weekend!! I’m enjoying my time in Connecticut visiting my new tiny baby cousin, little Hope Elea. She’s too precious for words!

thoughts on the end of the year…

I feel kind of in a daze this past week. There is only 7 more days left of school, yet it seems like an eternity. I am running through all the motions but there is so much going on in my head and in my world that I’ve hardly gotten a minute to sit down all week (and the week before that, and the week before that). Every night my feet ache and I fall asleep instantly when my head hits the pillow.

My drive to work is long. Too long, I sometimes think, but this week I welcome the ride. I’ve found myself driving home after work in silence, halfway to my apartment and I’ve realized I forgot to put my music on. And I stop and consider it for a minute before deciding that I rather like the silence. For 45 minutes I can just be. Just me and my thoughts and my silence.

I welcome it and I appreciate it.

Away from my classroom and the hustle and bustle of the end of the year.

I love my job, but this girl needs a break.

In a recent morning journal prompt I asked my first graders what they would be doing over the summer. My favorite response: “I’m going to relax and take life easy.”

It made me smile.

Hear, hear. I’ll raise my glass to that.

Thank goodness summer is near.

Meet adorable, precious, tiny, cute little Roo– Zan’s sister’s new puppy! I can’t get enough of the little kangaroo. She’s so small and loveable.

I really want a puppy now…. !
