I ♥ Vermont

What a terrific weekend in Vermont!

I love Vermont. It’s such a special place filled with red barns, covered bridges, ben and jerry’s ice cream, a favorite college friend, and really fun skiing!!

Zan and I drove up after work on Friday and headed straight to Burlington, where we spent the night with Julie, a roommate from my beloved “Brickhouse” in college. Jules had homemade beef stew waiting for us when we arrived. It tasted just perfect after our long drive and we spent the evening catching up on what’s new and reminiscing about the old.

Saturday it was up and at ’em as we headed up to Sugarbush for a day of skiing.

Perfect weather and lots and lots of snow!

The snow was amazing, by our standards, and the many “locals” that we talked to on the lifts while we headed up to the top of the mountain.

Here are some neat pictures I took from my phone’s retro camera app… love the vintage look!

On Saturday night we stayed at an adorable B&B, The Inn at Lareau Farm, just a few miles from the mountain. The house was so cozy, with ample snacks and beverages meant just for the guests, extremely comfortable beds, and perfectly hot and wonderful showers (which felt particularly terrific after a long day of skiing). The breakfast was an omelette of our choosing (MMm!), and  the Inn prides itself on being a working farm, using only organic produce and sustainably raised meats.

Highly recommended if you’re ever looking for a place to stay over a skiing weekend! We couldn’t have been happier! How was your weekend? Hope it was a good one!

Headed to the mountain

I’m headed up to Vermont for the weekend to go skiing!! This will be my first time this winter and I’m really looking forward to hittin’ up the slopes. Zan and I are visiting Jules in Burlington tonight and then we’ll be spending Saturday and Sunday at Sugarbush. Woohoo!

Have a great weekend!

making my camera pretty

As you may be aware, through my many raves, I am in love with my new camera. I want to take it everywhere and take pictures of everything. Heck, I would sleep with it if I wasn’t too scared to break it during the night.

Once, at a previous wedding, I remember the photographer had the most adorable camera strap. I loved the look and remember thinking what a cute idea that was. Today, I went looking for a camera strap of my own, and ETSY was where it was at.

Isn’t it perfect? I’m in love. I can’t wait for it to arrive in the mail!

My most favorite part, besides the fun fabric, is the little pocket where you can keep your lense cap. This is absolutely the most wonderful invention in the world since I have probably misplaced my lense cap 25 times since I’ve owned it (which has been about 3 weeks).

I bought my camera strap from PrettyNPreppy via her Etsy shop. What I like about this shop, compared to others I looked at is the fact that you can personalize your strap with any fabric you like (as long as it’s in their fabric shop). They have loads of pretty and fun fabrics to choose from!

Check it out!

pretty colors…

The other night I decided to head over to Boden, to take a peak at what they have in store this 2011. This clothing company always puts a smile on my face with their bright colors and classic lines. Patterns and colors are totally my thing- so everything about these clothes make me happy.

Here are my favorites!

I am simply loving the yellows and pinks as always. They are just so cheerful, especially in this full-blown winter we are in the midst of. Also, a girl cannot live without stripes. I love the navy blue and white striped casual tunic. So perfect to throw on in late spring and summer.

Do you think I need a trip to the beach? I’d say.

Hope you’re finding ways to brave the cold… this is my medicine!
