comfy madewell look…

I am loving this look from Madewell right now. So comfy cozy. Love the scarf. Love the sweater. Love the shorts. LOVE IT ALL. The shorts especially though, because I feel like I have some version or another of the other pieces, but the shorts are unique. I am totally picturing them with a navy and white striped three-quarter shirt, gold j.crew long necklace, and white scarf. ADORE.

Oh, winter, I am so over you. Summer, you’re my everything.

a rockin’ new years…

So I know it’s the 10th of January, and this is coming a bit late, but better late than never right? This year for New Years Eve, Zan, Meg, our good friend Andrea, and I made a plan to go to The Liberty Hotel in Beacon Hill. It was truly a top notch choice for one of the most talked-up nights of the year.

Meg’s boyfriend, Josh, works at the Liberty and so we were able to get tickets easily (and free too!). What a perfect place to spend New Years Eve. Oh so posh. The theme was a masquerade ball, so we got all dressed up, put on some glamour masks, and headed to the party. SO FUN!

Starting the celebration off with a little vintage bubby…

Shortly after the ball dropped I, in true Nanner fashion, dumped out all the contents of my purse. Clearly, I felt a dance was appropriate. Of course!

An excellent time had by all! I know I’ve already said this, but I’m saying it again… Happy New Year!

Hope yours is going well so far!

travel with adorable stuff!

Do you know One Kings Lane?

My friend told me about it a year ago and I just love it. It’s a lot like RueLaLa, only for home goods. Perfect for me since one of my favorite hobbies is looking for decorative and practical items for the home. This weekend they are having a sale on some adorable travel luggage and accessories. I love the fun sea-inspired prints. So summer!

The company is called Halsea. “I’d like for someone to see a Halsea item, and wonder if it was a hand-me-down from mom’s groovier days or if it’s something new and special,” says designer Sally Bartz. “If Lilly Pulitzer epitomized an era in Palm Beach, I’d like for Halsea to tell a story of a classic but relaxed old-school California.”

I like that. And I love the look. Classy, yet fun.

Take a look for yourself… sale ends tomorrow!

brie and raspberry croissants

Croissants….

Croissants. Croissants. Croissants.

I just love saying that. And in a french accent, naturally.

Croissants.

MMMMMmmmmmmm. Croissants.

In reality, I do not yet know how to make actual croissants, although it is something on my list to do in 2011. I do, however, very much enjoy the next best thing equally as much as the real thing: Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. PCR are positively delightful. They are so delightful that I like to call them croissants, whether they really are true croissants or not. Mostly, because I just like saying croissants.

There really is hardly anything better than croissants. They are so soft and buttery. I absolutely love every single bite. My mother always made croissants with my favorite dinner dish, chicken paprika. mmm. It’s still the exact thing I ask for whenever I visit home. The chicken paprika is mouthwateringly delicious, but the croissants absolutely make the meal for me. You want to know what else is mouthwateringly (is that a word?) delicious?

Croissants for breakfast. Even better… croissants for breakfast with brie and raspberries. Oh. my. goodness.

You can very easily make this yourself. And if I were you, I would make these today.

Ingredients:
Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (aka croissants)
Soft Brie
Ripe Raspberries

350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Bake ’em on up and enjoy! Easy peasy oh so breezy.

Happy Saturday!
