pretty in pink.

Took a browse through j.crew tonight while watching the opening ceremonies for the Olympics in Vancouver. Everything (well almost everything) that caught my eye just happened to be a shade of pink. How fitting, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.

Here are the items I will be dreaming about tonight:

What a gorgeous sweater. I love the bit of extra fabric tied around the neck. It’s so elegant.

Cute little t-shirt. Lace and beaded applique. Very lovely.

This lightweight beach dress is precious. The little ruffle at the bottom is my favorite part.

The color of this skirt is very old fashioned to me. I think it would look so great with just a simple cream t-shirt. Or the authentic fleece popover (see below).

That’s all I’ve got for the pretty pink. Here’s some more items I love (not pink, but still pretty):

The ballet flat. Classic.

Here’s the fleece popover in ivory. I have this in red and it’s so cozy.

The golden cocktail skirt.
Yes, please.

Ciao, shopping!

Well folks, I have decided on a New Years Resolution. It’s a big one. Probably too big. But whatever– go big or go home, right?!?

And the resolution is… (drumroll, please):
I, aeb, vow to be less frivilous in spending. Specifically: buying clothes.
Now, I am not going to say I am not going to buy any clothes this year. That would NEVER work. I did think of that idea for about a second before I decided it was completely ridiculous. So I’ve decided to give myself some guidelines to follow so that I can actually succeed in my attempt to be less of a “shopaholic”, if you will.
Ground rules:
1) You may only go shopping ONCE a month.
2) If you do choose to go shopping in a given month, you MUST buy any and all items on SALE.
3) Wedding atire (i.e. bridesmaids dresses/shoes) are an exception.
4) Thrift store finds are allowed.
That’s it. Simple. Right? Hmmm… we shall see.
In short, I’ve got WAY too many clothes. My clothes are all beautiful and I have enough j.crew to last me a lifetime. I want to see if I can stick to this resolution for the sake of self control as well as the sake of my bank account. I hope that by writing this down it becomes more real than if I just said it in my head. Because I’ve gone and announced it to the world I MUST NOT fail. Wish me luck!!!

Holiday Wish List

Here’s a wish list of some things I am wishing for this year….

Blogging for Bliss is a fun book all about blogging. It gives you neat ideas on how to craft your blog to be just the way you want it…. looks great!!

The Horn Book Magazine has up to date articles and reviews on all the best children’s literature… great for an aspiring reading specialist like me!

These Wicked Good Moccasins from l.l.bean just look SO COZY!!! I need a new pair anyways since the pair I’ve been wearing are the black and pink Guinness slippers Erin and Edith brought back to me from their trip to Ireland…. 5 years ago.

Love this Merino Trapper Hat from j.crew!! It will perfectly fit over my ears keeping them nice and warm. Plus, the gray will look great with all of my winter coats!

And the gift card never fails to please…. here are my favorite stores!!

Those are just a few things I’ve come up with so far….
happy shopping ;)

Kid Couture.

I just got the crewcuts holiday catalog in the mail today and everything is so precious I can hardly stand it. I just want to be a small being so I can wear all those adorable headbands, sparkly jewlery and cute puffy, fluffy skirts and pretend to be Fancy Nancy.

I was in the store a few weekends ago and picked up some necklaces from the crewcuts section. I couldn’t help myself they were so cute. That, and I couldn’t afford the adult versions. Poor is me. No, but really, I think the necklaces I bought were more my everyday style. I do love the fancier women’s jewelry but it’s just not practical for everyday wear. Unless your the Queen of England, and even then it’s a little over the top.
Here are the necklaces I bought:

Yes, I realize I got the same necklace in 3 different colors. But they were 30% off 2 or more and I hardly ever pass up a deal like that. Plus, I had trouble deciding which one I liked the best. Who knows, maybe I’ll give one as a Christmas gift? Ehhh, I feel separation anxiety already just thinking about this idea so don’t get your hopes up. Just saying.
