I LOVE the Booksmith.

Brookline Booksmith.

I love.
I was just wandering around Coolidge Corner today soaking in the 70 degree weather and of course I wandered into Brookline Booksmith. And I couldn’t help but think to myself, as I do every time I go inside: What an absolutely AMAZING bookstore. I love it. It has such a wonderful feel, like a old worn in pair of jeans. Well fitted, comfortable, and classic. I love the rows of wooden bookshelves with the old rolling ladder. I love the used bookshop in the basement. And I love all the knick-knacks and notecards throughout the store.

It’s here where I get the gorgeous and inspiring Positively Green Cards and also today where I found these great folk and flora correspondance notecards by Repro Depot. So fun! I couldn’t help but buy the notecards in hopes that I will start up letter writing again. Because really, who doesn’t like getting an old fashioned letter in the mail? It’s the simple things that are the best things.

Spring is here!!

Oh spring, beautiful spring. Not sure if spring is officially here yet, the northeast can be tricky like that, but it sure does feel like spring. I’l take what I can get when I can get it. My mood is so bright and I just feel like dancing in the streets (which sometimes I do, just because).

Here’s a little list of some of my favorite things about spring:
1. Cadbury mini eggs (I’ve already gone through 2 bags)
2. The sun is out until 7:00. Yes, Mr. Sun, please shine down on me.
3. Rolled up jeans and shoes with no socks
4. Flowers on the trees (I spotted some buds yesterday!)
5. Happiness running through my veins
5. SUMMER is just that much closer
Oh summer, you are my favorite. Come soon, please.

Vacation!

At 9:15 tonight I will officially be on vacation. A whole 11 days!!

It’s spring break:
I don’t have school.
I don’t have to work.
Life is grand.

3 years ago I went to North Carolina on my vacation.
2 years ago it was California. Glorious.
Last year we went to Washington, DC. I was a tourist and it was awesome.
This year…. this year I’ll be sitting on my butt, watching Ellen and enjoying the fact that I am doing nothing. Absolutely nothing. I’m so excited about it. I love love LOVE going away on vacation, but this year I am so busy with school and volunteering and babysitting I just literally need a break. So I’ll take it!

Busy, busy, busy.

I was so so busy last week I hardly had any time to blog. These next couple of months are going to be jam packed with stuff, but I am determined to make it out alive. Although most likely, I won’t be blogging as much as I have been, I still hope to get a post in from time to time– it’s such a creative outlet for me (in a virtually-artsy kind of way) and something I have grown proud of. I’m a writer! Who knew?!

Here’s what I’ll be up to this semester:
  • I’m taking 4 grad school classes
  • I’ll be volunteering 3 mornings a week in a first grade classroom
  • Hanging out with Wyatt and Asa… my little love bunnies
  • Watching the very last season of LOST
  • Dancing the night away at Bailey’s wedding in April !
  • Working on a new blog: letsreadtogether.wordpress.com (I’ll be tracking my life as a young teacher… posting about new information I’ve learned, classroom tips, children’s literature reviews and other interesting info about working with kids)
I’m excited, stressed, and exhausted about the idea of all I have to do. It’s gonna be a whirlwind semester that’s for sure. Luckily, I do enjoy everything that I am doing (yes, even the classes part) and so hopefully it will make the craziness bearable. Wish me luck!
