5 people I would invite to dinner {dead edition}

The game is back for round two.

WHO would you invite to dinner if they were not resting in peace???

Here’s my guest list:

1.

JFK Jr.

Yes yes yes.

Oh how I loved this man.

2.

Laura Ingalls Wilder

I am a prairie girl at heart so we would totally get along.

3.

Lucille Ball

She’s a funny one, that Lucy.

And beautiful too.

– – – – – – – – – – –

4.

Princess Diana

Oh, Diana.

What I would give to have you at a dinner party.

5.

Shel Silverstein

He’s probably one of the coolest people of all time.

Just sayin’.

And just because I can’t help it, here’s some of my very favorites:

Invitation

If you are a dreamer, come in.
If you are a dreamer, a wish-er, a liar
a hope-er, a pray-er, a magic-bean-buyer
If you’re a pretender, come sit by my fire
for we have some flax-golden tales to spin!
Come in! Come in!

Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda

All the Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
Sittin’ in the sun
Talkin’ ’bout the things
They woulda coulda shoulda done…
All the Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
ran away and hid
from one little Did

The Little Boy and the Old Man

Said the little boy, “Sometimes I drop my spoon.”
Said the old man, “I do that too.”
The little boy whispered, “I wet my pants.”
“I do that too,” laughed the little old man.
Said the little boy, “I often cry.”
The old man nodded, “So do I.”
“But worst of all,” said the boy, “it seems
Grown-ups don’t pay attention to me.”
And he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
“I know what you mean,” said the little old man.

  1. Literally….. LITERALLY, would invite teh same five people. Not conciously of course, because obviously seeing your list makes mre realize that, but wow, what a list.

I still remember when JFK jr AND Princess Diana died. I wrote about both in my diary.

Shel, well he’s an all time favorite.
“Listen to the Musnt’s Child” and that one about the fortune teller are two faves.

    Who DOESN’T love Lucy?!?

And if your favorite book wasn’t Little House on the Prairie in elementary school, you were straight wack.

    The end.

  2. This is my favorite game ever.

    Cary Grant.
    Lady Di.
    Nat King Cole.
    Jane Austen.
    Roald Dahl.

Also, I’m totally switching out one of my living people to include J.K. Rowling…how on earth did I forget her?!

  3. Lovely guest list!

  4. Yes yes YES! to Lucille Ball. I watched I Love Lucy every morning before school when I was in high school. Now when my students make fun of my expressive faces, I give credit to Lucy, who taught me how to make the best faces!!

  5. love your list. especially princess diana. i would’ve loved to meet her. i cannot come up with my own on the spot. too much pressure!

  6. Oh, I love Shel Silverstein! I bet he would be so entertaining at a dinner party, lol. Hm…this makes me want to conjure up a list of my own. I already know a few I would invite!
