Being a teacher I get to read all sorts of stories to my class. Some are heartwarming, some are filled with interesting facts, and a lot are just plain silly. David Shannon’s, A Bad Case of Stripes, is a super fun children’s book and one I can completely relate do nowadays. While the main character Camilla is struggling with eating veggies and caring too much about what other people think, I’m struggling more in the literal sense.
Case in point:
A bad case of stripes is right.
They say stripes are like crack. I don’t doubt that for a second.
I’ll go so far as to say this: If stripes are wrong, then I don’t wanna do right.
Love all the stripes! Especially the curtains in the last picture… With me, it’s more of a bad case of the florals…if it’s a pretty, flowery print…I have to have it! Also, I love all your photographs and adventures from New York, makes me want to fly across the pond again – hopefully this year it’ll happen in December; New Yorkers know how to do Christmas! xox
haha – this collection of pictures is great. I wear stripes more than I used to. I grew up in a strict household and by tht I mean my Italian mother had a grandfather who was a tailor and dressmaker and we were taught stripes make you look bigger and are not for the for the faint of heart. so sometimes I have an aversion to buying them yet I love them on everyone i see. I’m gettig better at it. thanks a lot great grandpa.
Firstly, I LOVED your pics of NY. My Pop Pop wants to take me tbere as a graduation present. I don’t know that it will definitely happen, but I am totally up for visiting the Big Apple. Also, Luke is adorable and I love his nursery. Anyways, I’d never been much of a stripes person until recently. I never liked the way they looked on me in high school, but you wear them well! I will have to give them another chance, I suppose. :)
LOVE all those stripes. I would argue that you have a good case of the stripes :)
What a funny book cover! I hear you, stripes are my staple, and sometimes it is just bad. But I refuse to let them go.
Also, how are you creating your collages in life after picnik?
I really like that book cover as well as all your snaps of stripes!
I’m the same way! I’m addicted to striped and wear them almost every day…and now that I have a kid he gets to wear them all the time too!! what you’ve got must be contagious!
Well, you do stripes well Missy so don’t stop!
That book looks like a fun read!
My sister loves all of David Shannon’s books, especially the David series. I am obsessed with stripes too. So glad you shared this post.
My hubby and I have been enjoying your posts, especially your pictures of NYC and Boston. We are considering a trip to Boston and it would be so fun to go to the places you’ve written about. And maybe meet you too. I think it’s awesome you are friends with some of my blogging friends, namely Claire. I’m hoping to meet in person soon
LOVE THAT BOOK. LOVE YOUR STYLE! girl, teach me your ways!
