100 days!

100 days of school happened on Tuesday and we rocked it in my classroom.

Do you remember 1st grade? Because I hardly can. Which is why I tried my darndest to make this a celebration to remember.

That, and I’m trying to be the coolest teacher in school.

There were 100 fingerprints.

We played “race to 100”.

And oh, there were lollipops. 100 sweet licks of that candy on a stick.

What will you look like when you’re 100 years old?

Can you stand on 1 leg for 100 seconds? Do 100 jumping jacks?

Let’s see where we end up after 100 steps around the school.

We read 100 words.

Made 100-knot bracelets.

And counted collections by 5s and 10s and 2s.

There was sorting piles of skittles (and eating happened too).

OH, there’s one more thing, that’s best and the most fun:

ONLY 80 MORE DAYS UNTIL SCHOOL IS DONE!

I’m over at thread the needle today!

I’m excited to be featured in the Introducing Series over at Thread the Needle today!

I met Maria through Boston Bloggers and we’ve been twitter friends for awhile now. We have similar style taste as is evident through our blogs, and I’m excited to meet her in person tonight at the Boston Blogger’s February Meet-Up. FINALLY!

I really enjoyed answering Maria’s questions during our recent Q & A session —  check out my post to learn the story behind my blog’s name and other fun facts about me.

See you back here tomorrow!

a day at the beach.

This post wins the prize for most photos in a blog post. EVA.

But I just couldn’t choose, okay?

I might not know how to edit out pictures, but I do know one thing: I wish every day was a day at the beach.

(You can view my summer pictures from Chatham here and here.)

Happy Tuesday!

the best idea.

We day-tripped it to the Cape this weekend and it was aaamazing. Beyond amazing if that’s even possible for February. Zan’s been away for work all week so I gathered up Meg and Lauren and convinced them that going to Chatham for the day was the best idea since Ruffles potato chips in PB&J. (I only needed to say Cape Cod and they both were sold instantly).

I can’t help but wonder why I’ve never done a winter weekend day-trip like this before. I could not have been happier Saturday. From the second we arrived til the moment we left I was in this wonderful trance. This place of pure bliss. I could feel it in the smile on my face and the warmth in my heart.

I was taken back to summer, my one and only.

It didn’t matter that it was freezing, the sun and sand were enough.

Enough to last me until August, or sooner if I’m lucky.

(more pictures tomorrow!)
