YUMMY Cookbooks

I was in Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago and was perusing through the cookbook section. SO FUN. This is something that I do often (read: at least twice a month). I love cookbooks. They just make me wish I was a real cook. Like Giada, for instance. LOVE Giada. I don’t ever really buy cookbooks though. I’m more of a “google search a recipe” kind of girl. I just don’t plan my meals far enough in advance. I’m more of the “last minute/what am I going to make tonight?” type. It’s all good. Also, cookbooks are expensive. And I try not to do expensive whenever I can help it.
However, if I did buy cookbooks these are surely the ones I would buy:

Oh wow. Imagine all the possibilities.

I really like this one. Zan and I like to have sushi parties. They are so fun and delicious.

Yes, siree! I’ll gladly have lobster at home.

Almost everyone I know has this cookbook or some version of it. This makes me want it too.

And lastly:

I LOVE PW!!!! This book is fabulous because each recipe has great photography of the food to help you with each step. Plus, Ree Drummond is just so seriously AWEOME. Someday this cookbook will be mine. Someday soon I hope.

get me a grilled cheeeeese pleeease.

Who loves grilled cheese? I love grilled cheese.
That warm and cheesy heaven
Buttery and delicious.

I am seriously in LOVE with grilled cheese. All kinds of delicious, buttery grilled cheese. It’s 11:00 on a Friday night and I can’t stop wishing I was eating a grilled cheese. I’m sad though, because I have no bread. And I have no cheese. BUMMER. I know what I’m doing first thing tomorrow. I will buy that bread and cheese and I will make one killer grilled cheese for lunch. It’ll be insane. YUM.

Good night. I’m off to dream of some mouth watering grilled cheeeeeeeese.

(This ridiculous post is a result of my empty stomach. My apologies, GNIGHT!)

A night out with the Boogies.

Last night I very excitedly went out to meet up with erin and ee: my friends, my lovers, my boogers. I met these amazing girls my junior year in college and very quickly after we met we knew we were meant to be friends for life. And so we spent the rest of our college days singing and nanner dancing and singing and nanner dancing some more. Ahh, the memories.

{EE has been living in San Diego for the past 4 years and this summer she will be traveling cross country to move back over to the east coast! I can’t even believe it– she’s really going to be my neighbor. FOR REAL.}

It was such a fun night last night. We had dinner and drinks at a new place in Fenway, Remy’s Sports Bar. Named after the famous Jerry Remy, major league baseball sports broadcaster and former 2nd baseman for the Boston Red Sox. The restaurant was really cool, with views of Fenway and delicious food. It’ll be super fun (but packed, I’m sure) to go to during games this spring and summer. GO SOX!

After drinks we headed over to Southie and continued to love each other until the wee hours of the morning. Because that’s just what lovers do: they love each other. What a great night. It’s ALWAYS better when we’re together.

Some things cold and sugary and delicious.

This weekend in the Bean was beyond gorgeous. We’re talking 70 degrees and sunny. On Saturday I was wearing a sleeveless shirt. No sleeves! And I was perfectly comfortable! Heaven. I bet it’s like that in heaven. I know in my heaven it will be that’s for sure. Aaaanyways. Warm weather calls for cool treats. And I sure got my fair share of them this weekend.

Let’s start with ice cream. YUMMY yummy ice cream. So creamy and delicious and fattening. I love it. My favorite? JP Licks Oreo Ice Cream. It is devine. It’s literally like mushed up oreos and milk. The taste is indescribably spectacular. Superb. Fabulous. Ok, ok.. you get it.

Next up? Smoothies. Oh, fruity smoothies you are so good.

Berry Freeze is the newest frozen yogurt joint to hit Coolidge Corner. This phenomenon has been around NYC for a few years, but we over here in Boston– we lag a bit with the trends. It’s a great idea though and I’m glad it’s finally caught on over here… makes you feel slightly less guilty as opposed to eating ice cream. But still, only slightly. They have an amazing fruit bar filled with glorious amounts of fruits and nuts and sugary cereals and CHOCOLATE.

Looks good doesn’t it? Mmm hmm it does.
