My summer (in a clam shell)…

This summer flew past, right before my eyes. I can not believe how fast it went actually. So super fast– like those horses and jockeys at the Saratoga race track. Whew! Mostly, I was finishing up my coursework, but also, I was having fun.
I finished up the Summer Compass Program (a Lesley University/Cambridge Public Schools partnership) with an extreme sense of accomplishment. Mostly because I can’t even belieeeeeve how much paperwork I finished in only 6 weeks, but also because I really did feel like a reading teacher. :)
The other reading specialists I worked with (pictured above) were all AMAZING. I loved spending my days in the reading room with them, working as colleagues, and getting to know them as friends. I will miss this group and will have great memories of our crazy summer together!

I did also manage (although I’m not quite sure how) to do other summer-y things with other fabulous people in my life. LUCKILY, I have the documentation to prove it. Here is my summer in a nutshell….OR, more appropriately, a CLAM shell. Wish it could go on forever.

I made it to a red sox game!

I enjoyed a night out with friends at an HWS/SLU alumni event…

Hung out with Zan’s fam… ate a good amount of ice cream…

Went down to Greenwich to spend time with family…. got some pics with my Aunt Heidi’s chicken coup…

Fresh eggs, anyone?

Drank PBRs with the guys…

Loved me some EE and Aaron…

Becca came to visit and she cooked up a delicious meal!

I am the proud new owner of a FABULOUS FIT-

I took a weekend trip to the Cuse and spent most of my time in Skan-town… picked some corn, ate some veggies, hung out with my cousins, spent time with Tinsley, and got to see MO!!

GOODBYE SWEET SUMMER.
Goodbye!!

KPRIME’s birthday shoutout:

Party Bus!

I am still trying to wrap my head around last saturday night. WHAT a blast– A wonderfully fun time celebrating our lovely friend Hannah Montgomery (soon to be Magee!).
This much I know is true:
I took 225 pictures (for serious).
I ate AMAZING lobster bisque for dinner.
I was in the company of 8 super ladies from Maine (and one seriously fabulous chick from NY).
AND I sang karaoke to Michael Jackson on a party bus.
Here are [a few] pics to recap the event:
I love this one of Hannah and her mom…

the ladies after the bridal shower lunch…

Ferry to Peaks Island:

pleasantly full and ready for…

the PARTY BUS!

(I am censoring photos here due to inappropriate “bachelorette” paraphernalia. My grammy reads this.)

We brought Han down memory lane on a very clever scavenger hunt through Maine and Yarmouth, with stops including Hobart Rd:

The next road bares the name of a place some call Camp…
Dunking balls into solo cups made you the Beruit champ.
You drank rum and coke and sang to “Josie” many nights,
danced at the Holiday and threw back red light/green lights.
This place brought you across the world and to a house made of bricks…
And it all started with some lil’ friends and a SWEET pair of kicks.

and finally ending at RiRa’s

Now on to our last stop on this game,
To a place where your friends and family came.
To celebrate you and the love of your life,
The place where Todd asked you to be his wife.

So glad I was there to celebrate!!

Love you, Han… Can’t wait for September!

Memorial Day Weekend

What a fantastic weekend. Jam packed with good fun and great friends. I’m so sad it’s over! Here’s some pics to recap… loved every second of it.
Friday
Friday I headed out to dinner in Beacon Hill with Meg, Lauren, and Kate. Kate is a REALLY SUPER fun friend from St. Lawrence. She cracks me up and it’s always so fun when she comes to visit. We decided to go to Harvard Gardens and had a great meal. They’re food is actually really good, which I never knew! After dinner the girls went out for more drinks and dancing and I headed out to Cambridge to visit Rebecca who was in the Bean from Brooklyn. YAY!

Rebecca was hanging out in Harvard Square with some friends from college/NYC. We went to this really nice pub, Daedalus, which had an amazing roof deck. It was such a nice night, perfect to be spending time outside. And when the night got cooler, we made it under some cozy heat lamps. Warm summertime goodness.

Saturday
Saturday Zan and I hit the road to Hartford to meet up with Hannah, Todd, and some of their Maine friends for the Dave Matthews Concert. Woohoo! SO FUN.

Dave Matthews Band Setlist Comcast Theatre, Hartford, CT, USA 2010
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
Sunday
Sunday we made it back to Boston in time to meet up with Bailey and Kevin for brunch. They were in town for a wedding and I was so happy to catch up with them and hear about their honeymoon in Hawaii. Becca drove up from The Cape and we had ourselves a real live Cusp reunion. LOVE!

The rest of the afternoon Beck, Becca, and I took a mini tour around Boston that consisted of going to Urban Outfitters and walking along the Charles. So great to have old friends in town. Love you girls so much– come back soon!!

xoxo.
