97 summer snapshots.

A snapshots post. I haven’t done one of these in awhile (which is painfully evident from the near 100 photos I have uploaded here today).

This post is mostly for me, more than anything.

Sometimes I think I might want to turn this lil blog into a book someday. A book that I can hold and turn the pages of. To remember these days of having so much to do and so much to tell that often it is hard to imagine life more full than this. I don’t really believe that, because deep down inside I know that it will only get fuller and richer with time, and this makes me thankful and wide-eyed.

So here I am storing my favorite snapshots of the summer.

To keep and remember.

On this little old corner of the internet that is mine.

I’ve been busy this week, spending time with family and visiting friends. I will eventually share it all but life seems busy lately and summer is fleeting, so for now I think I’ll just do my best to soak it all in and experience it fully. We’re heading up to the farmhouse again this weekend and then I’m seeing Ingrid Michaelson with my sister on Sunday night, something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time now. There’s still so much to do this summer, and still so much that I’m looking forward to, but I can also see the end in sight which is why I’m starting to put the brakes on a little— attempting to slow it down and hold on a little tighter.

Wishing you a happy weekend, friends. One that inches on slowly letting you hold on and savor every last bit.

  1. How gorgeous! Have a nice weekend!

  2. You need to turn your Instagram pics into a little book that you can put on your coffee table commemorating your summer. You’re also an inspiration to me to start taking more pictures with my iPhone. I forget that it has the camera feature and should be capturing more of my life!

    • You should! I think I’ve finally found a balance between capturing it all and experiencing it all, too.

But I am so thankful for the evidence I have of all these good times. Have you ever been back to old posts on your blog? Some of the stuff I wrote and did I don’t even remember! It’s then that I realize how glad I am that I am recording it all here. It’s easy to remember the big stuff, but it’s the little stuff that we sometimes forget.

  3. Such a happy yay summer post! I’m trying to savor the next few weeks before back to school time, too. I can’t believe August is just days away!

  4. How pretty!! :) Your summer looks like it’s been so wonderful. I often think about turning my blog into a book…but then I think maybe it’s headed more in the direction of becoming a springboard for a newsletter or magazine or something? Who knows what the future will hold!

    • Yeah, I think it would be cool coffee table book. Or one that sits on the shelf for me to peer back on in my old age.

      :-D

  5. I love the idea of turning your blog into a book! Yours would make an excellent one :) I’m quite jealous that you’re seeing Ingrid this weekend. Boy, do I love her! Enjoy!!

  6. I love summer through your snapshots. The one of you laughing in your beach hat is my favorite. So lovely.

  7. You, my dear, are LIVING.

  8. What a fun summer you’ve had already!! I absolutely love the title pic with all the boats. Everything is so colorful and full life!

One of my biggest fears is coming up with ideas and dreams and never actually DOING them. I think that in my adult life I’ve gotten so much better at making things happen because I want them to and it’s so rewarding because the memories are ones I’ll cherish for years to come! Especially since right now in my 20s I have so much time, energy, and freedom. I want to LIVE it up and make the MOST of these years! So glad you’re doing the same and truly enjoying your summer :)

    • Laura, I don’t know what it is, but I feel like I am living fuller than ever before. Maybe it is the freedom. I never thought of it that way, but you’re right. I have more freedom now that I’m older, and also more freedom because I don’t yet have the responsibilities of a family. But then of course, it’ll be rewarding in a different way.

Anyways, I’m glad we’re living our lives for all their worth. So very glad. :)

  9. This is awesome! You take the best pics and document your life so well! I’m gonna need to get better at this!

  10. I envy your photos, and your summer. I’m also planning on making a little book of sorts, a year of my Instagrams to remind me about not only the big events, but the little details + happy moments :)
